G-man, who’s been absent for almost all of Episode One up until this moment, finds an opportunity to have yet another little chat with you, especially since the vortigaunts are now busy healing Alyx, leaving him free to approach you once more.

The G-man seems more threatening than ever before as he clarifies that he doesn’t want to squander his investments by other parties. Parties that he seems to consider a form of opposition in one way or another, as he not-so-subtly suggests he couldn’t ‘kwell’ them to turn things in his favor. It’s clear, however, that G-man sees a lot of value in Alyx, as much as yourself basically. The reason for this has somewhat been clarified in Half-Life: Alyx, so if you haven’t played it yet, now is the time!

== TECHNICAL INFORMATION ==

The video was recorded through the Source engine’s native renderer. I first recorded a demo of this scene, then used a number of commands to stabilize the framerate and avoid stutter at 7860×4320 resolution. Audio was recorded through OBS for a true surround experience, although Source doesn’t support or include LFE-effects.

This is the anniversary build released on November 16th of 2024 where G-man’s eyes have been fixed (they were missing specular reflections up until this release). The G-man model has been modded to the Half-Life: Alyx version for increased detail.
