The ending of Half-Life 2 in 8K UHD resolution at 60FPS and with complete 5.1 surround audio. Subtitles/Closed Captions included.

Just as the Citadel is about to explode and ravage parts of City 17 all around itself, who else to expect but G-man himself, stopping time to ensure the survival of both you and Alyx. Until the time you’re needed again (in Episode One) you’re put into stasis in wait for the next mission while weathering the massive explosion so everything can safely resume again. An iconic scene that still will be remembered by all fans of the Half-Life franchise.

== TECHNICAL INFORMATION ==

The video was recorded through the Source engine’s native renderer. I first recorded a demo of this scene, then used a number of commands to stabilize the framerate and avoid stutter at 7860×4320 resolution. Audio was recorded through OBS for a true surround experience, although Source doesn’t support or include LFE-effects.

This is the anniversary build released on November 16th of 2024 where G-man’s eyes have been fixed (they were missing specular reflections up until this release).
