Sinners Takes Huge Bite Out of Weekend Box Office – IGN The Fix: Entertainment

In today’s Fix of entertainment news:
Ryan Coogler may have just birthed a new franchise. His Southern Gothic vampire epic, Sinners, had a monster debut over Easter weekend, with $48 million domestic and more than $60 million worldwide, a huge opening for a non-major IP film. And speaking from personal experience, see this in IMAX if you can; it’s worth the price. In other box office news, Jared Hess’ A Minecraft Movie dropped to second place over the weekend, but still managed to cross the $700 million mark globally. The movie could be on its way to dethroning The Super Mario Bros. Movie as the highest-grossing video game movie of all time. And we take a peek at the best of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, and Anime at the all new Universal Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Presented by: Universal Studios Hollywood, and its new after-hours event, Universal Fan Fest Nights.
