Steam Deck | Is PC Gamer buying it, and should you?

We’ve had the Steam Deck in our hands for the last couple of weeks and it’s a device that has really grabbed us. The hardware is excellent, it feels good in the hands, and we can actually say it’s dealt with every game we’ve thrown at it incredibly well. Apart from Cities: Skylines. It really didn’t like that.
But, now we’ve ploughed hours into God of War, OlliOlli World, and Forza Horizon 5 on the Deck, how do we really feel about it? Will we be redeeming our reservation tickets when they come up, and should you?

There’s a lot to like about the Steam Deck. As a portable device it allows you to play on the go with even the latest PC games running at a healthy frame rate. It’s also incredibly versatile, we’ve even been using it as an office PC once we get it docked after a game-filled  commute. But there are issues, too. It’s large, it’s loud, and you have to make some genuine sacrifices to get a decent battery life out of it.
So, are we buying the Steam Deck?
