Mortal Kombat is a popular series of fighting games created by Midway, which in turn spawned a number of related media. Mortal Kombat is currently owned by Warner Brothers and developed by Netherrealm Studios with the latest title Mortal Kombat 11 releasing an expansion called Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath in 2020 for PS4,Xbox One,Nintendo Switch and PC. Through its iterations, the series has featured scores of player characters, some of them becoming mainstays, such as Scorpion, Sub Zero, Johnny Cage, Kabal, Kano, Kitana, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Mileena, Nightwolf, Noob Saibot, Quan Chi, Raiden, Reptile, Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Sheeva, Sindel and Sonya Blade. Among them are Earth’s humans and cyborgs, good and evil deities, and denizens of Outworld and other realms. The Recent MK games have included guest characters such as Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Kratos from God of War, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, the Xenomorph Alien from Alien, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Predator from Predator, the T-800 Terminator model from Terminator, RoboCop from RoboCop, Spawn from Image Comics and the Joker from DC Comics.
