Possibly one of the few maps from Luffaren I’ve grown to actually like a little LESS over the years… a big part of that feeling has to do with the overly low-quality detail in most of the environment, the extremely bright contrasts from HDR exposure (assuming there’s a lack of env_tonemap_controller) and the blocky and rigid geometry. In terms of gameplay it certainly holds up well, but perhaps it’s just the overall style and feel that I’ve felt is inferior to almost all his other maps.

Regardless, as a rendition to the Castlevania series it’s truly a masterpiece on its own within the Zombie Escape genre, and I still like to play it anyways. I probably find the last level to be worth it over all the other ones combined, but then again that’s just me.
